Out on the ledge

Stanage edge, a grit stone escarpment in the Peak District, is one of my favourite places.  Areas of Stanage were quarried in the past.  It is a wonderful place to sit and watch the world go by. I sat on this ledge and watched the world go by.  Stanage is excellent for climbing and it is wonderful watching the climbers at work.

As a Derbyshire lad now living in London it was lovely to see a glimpse of my old stomping ground. Enjoy the walking, I'm very envious!

Did you manage to find the quarried Millstones in the ferns at the foot of the escarpment? They are all over the place just left where they lay when they stopped quarrying.
