The things people do.

Some people are just so fanatically against any form of religion that when things like this happen, I am just amazed.

Not someone fanatically against religion, more likely someone fanatically for their form of religion- i.e no female clergy.

All fanatics believe that their form of religion/politics is THE only way.

The main difference is that those with religious conviction genuinely believe what they say.

Let me first say that I do not believe there to be a 'god' and I do not have a religion, except (and to paraphrase) 'Do as I would be done by'

This incident, would be totally unacceptable even if it was not connected to religion.

This lady is doing her job and like everyone else should be allowed to do so without hindrance.

I guess the people concerned can't be that secure in their own faith...after all, if they're right and she's wrong, won't she either be i)going to hell or ii) in line for a smiting?

In this case, I think religion is just something a rather disturbed person has fastened onto. Rather like those who cling to an ideology that causes them to plant nail bombs in gay bars.

Possibly. Miss T but it may be more of achicken and egg situation. Having almost been drawn into the political net, I have to say with conviction that politics is insidious. IT is Possible it is the same for some with religion. Each to his/her own but how and where do you draw the line.

We do have religious and political martyrs. Are the rest of us moral cowards ? Discuss 2000 words to be handed in by next Friday. I ain't no intellectual so keep it simple, Please
