Camera III

the more I read about cameras the more I realise I need a butler. HOW does anyone decide which camera to buy!!!!!!! I think I will go along to the local shop and see which ones are available and THEN look on the internet. So far I know I want it to be black, like the rain and start up and snap a shot really really quickly.

"Black, like the rain"??? I'd move somewhere less polluted, if I were you. The rain where I live is crystal clear...

Hi Bones
After much deliberation (It was a big step, moving onto digital format, abi5t like losing vinyl) I decided on the Fuji Finepix S6500fd.
It's got a great optical zoom (28-300mm)which is manually controlled like a trad SLR, but it doesn't have a removable lens (access point for grit and sand in the wooden boat/ beach environment mine is mainly used in)

Most importantly it can record in RAW mode which is highly desirable if you want the mags to use any of your work.

It also has a pretty good movie mode and you can use the zoom while you film.
Cheers
Carl

Raw is when the camera doesn't do any processing on the file, doesn't output a .jpeg or some such. Higher end stuff has the option to save as a .jpeg and raw

I mean .jpeg and raw at the same time. Two versions of the same picture.
